Details surrounding the double shooting unfolded around 2:11 a.m. Sunday when police received a report of a woman shot on Willow Cross Road in Hyde Park, said Hyde Park Police Lt. Robert Benson.

According to Benson, an investigation into the shootings revealed that Collin W. Vogg, 27, was at his residence on Willow Cross Road when Montarius J Washington, 31, of Hyde Park and Cali A Hamilton, 21, of Poughkeepsie, entered the home.

Once inside they displayed a handgun and demanded money and drugs from Vogg. Vogg then was able to retrieve a hidden shotgun and pointed it at Washington informing him that he was not giving him anything.

At this point, Hamilton shot the male victim in the shoulder. Vogg returned fire with the shotgun striking Hamilton in the arm. Hamilton then fled the house and called 911 from the yard of 16 Willow Cross Road. Washington remained inside the house and locked himself in the bathroom. A standoff ensued until finally, Vogg allowed Washington to flee the house prior to the arrival of the police, Benson said.

Washington was apprehended approximately three hours later by members of the New York State Police as he was walking along a roadway approximately two miles from the scene.

Upon the arrival of Hyde Park Police, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police, the house was searched and secured.

Vogg and Hamilton were both transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, he added.

Washington was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and attempted robbery and is being held on $150,000 cash or $300,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 12.

Hamilton was arraigned in the hospital ib charges if attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. She is being held on $150,000 cash or $300,000 bail bond. She is due in court on July 12.

The Hyde Park Police Department was assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriffs Office Patrol, Detective, and K-9 division. New York State Police, Village of Wappingers Police K-9 Unit, Roosevelt Rescue Squad, Mobil Life and the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office.
